President Kiir Leads Martyrs' Day Commemoration

President Salva Kiir on Thursday led South Sudan in commemorating Martyrs' Day, paying tribute to the men and women who sacrificed their lives for the country's freedom and independence. The ceremony brought together government officials, security forces, diplomats, veterans, and citizens to honor the nation's heroes, including the founding leader, Dr. John Garang de Mabior. In his address, President Kiir called on South Sudanese to promote peace, unity, and nation-building. He said the country should continue to remember those who gave their lives for freedom and work together for a better future. Martyrs' Day is observed every year across South Sudan to honor the country's fallen heroes and renew the nation's commitment to peace, justice, and development.
