Fighting Stops Between Ethiopian Army and Tigray Forces

Clashes between the Ethiopian army and Tigray forces near the Sudan border have ended, according to local and security sources.

The fighting began on Saturday in the Shererina area and involved heavy artillery and drones before ending early Sunday. No casualty figures have been released.

The Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) accused Ethiopia's federal government of increasing tensions, but the government has not responded.

The clashes took place in the disputed western Tigray region, raising fresh concerns about renewed conflict nearly four years after the Tigray war.
