At least 35 people were killed after a Sudanese army drone strike hit a traditional court in North Darfur on Sunday, according to the Emergency Lawyers rights group.
The attack happened in the village of Garra al-Zawaya, where civilians had gathered to settle local disputes. The group said several other people were injured, and the court building was damaged.
The village is controlled by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). A local witness said those killed included tribal leaders and RSF commanders.
The war between the Sudanese army and the RSF began in April 2023 and has killed tens of thousands of people, displaced millions, and created one of the world's worst humanitarian crises.
